World-renowned transplant surgeon Dr. Munci Kalayoglu is the head of the Memorial Health Group organ transplantation department. Dr. Kalayoglu has accomplished 45.000 surgeries and 2.000 liver transplantations, until this date. Prof. Dr. Munci Kalayoglu and Prof. Dr. Koray Acarlı accomplished 115-liver, 155-kidney and 3-pancrea transplantation between the years 2006 and 2009. At the University of Wisconsin, he set a record of 1,000 liver transplantation operations.
After graduating from the University of Ankara (School of Medicine) in 1963, Prof. Dr Münci Kalayoğlu completed a pediatric surgery residency at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburg. He then joined the faculty of Hacettepe University Medical School in Ankara, becoming a full Professor of Surgery in 1977. He founded Liver Transplantation Department at University of Wisconsin. Prof. Dr Münci Kalayoğlu has 185 traces (journals) published in medical magazines, 22 books and many contributions to the other books.
