Your dentist will prepare the area by numbing it with local anesthetic, cleaning it and removing existing decay or fillings.

After an impression of the tooth or teeth is taken, a temporary inlay/onlay is placed for protection while the permanent ones are custom made.

The permanent inlays or onlays are fabricated in a dental lab according to the impression. The permanent inlays or onlays are cemented to the teeth.
