About Transmed

Transmed Hair & Cosmetic Surgery Clinic was founded in Istanbul in February, 1994 as an International Medical Center in order to offer state of the art cosmetic surgery. Transmed is the first clinic in Turkey performing ‘Follicular Unit Transplantation’ in hair restoration operation in 1994. In 1995, Transmed used ‘Mini-Micro Grafting’ technique in hair restoration for the first time in Turkey.

After moving to its new building in Levent in 1997, Transmed has steadily enhanced and expanded its services. In 1997, Transmed was the first to offer Laser Epilation in Turkey with Epilight and Alexandrite Laser Systems. In 1998 Transmed introduced Liposhaping as a soft method of liposuction under the guidance of Dr. Giorgio Fiscler from Rome.

In 1998 Transmed developed the first web site about hair restoration. In 1999, started offering complete cosmetic surgeries — breast operations, abdominoplasty, nose operations, lipofilling, eyelid and face lifts.

In 2000, the concept of 'dermalifting' was brought to the market. Face rejuvenation without surgery became possible with the use of Botox and Fillers. Transmed medical team performed ‘Mega Mix Grafting’ technique at European Society of Hair Restoration Surgeons (ESHRS) meeting in France in 1999. In 2000 International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS) honored Dr. Melike Kulahci as a Governor of the Board. In the same year, Transmed hosted the European Society of Hair Restoration Surgeons (ESHRS) meeting.

In 2009 Transmed Research & Development team has completed Reversa & Fast Forward hair loss treatment studies. Also in 2009 operation room capacity increased and Transmed became the highest capacity hair restoration clinic in Turkey and Europe.

In 2010, Dr. Melike Kulahci became a member of Coalition of Independent Hair Restoration Physicians and The International Alliance of Hair Restoration Surgeons Hair researchers and hair surgeons gathered together in Istanbul for The Next Big Thing (TNBT) conference in May, 2011.

The Clinic

The building was renovated by one of the most famous architects in Turkey and became a modern, relaxing environment in order to provide the most comfortable experience possible to its customers.

In 2003 the Transmed Skin Clinic was formed in order to provide treatments according to the structure of the skin as determined by thorough skin analysis. In 2005, Transmed introduced Lipocontouring as a new concept in liposuction — Jeffrey Klein invented tumescent liposuction.

Transmed plastic surgeons completed an intensive in-the-operating room & hands-on-course in Tumescent Liposuction Surgery given by Dr.Klein himself in Los Angeles, CA.

The transplants are perfectly located and they haven't died or fallen out.

I had: FUT hairtransplant

Everything was fantastic - except the results. One year after I'm not seeing the results they had me expect. The transplants are perfectly located and they haven't died or fallen out. But they're hardly growing. I just have short pointy stubs (1-2mm), and it's now 1 year and two months post op. When I told them over email during the 1-year evaluation, they just didn't reply me. Otherwise every aspect of the experience was absolutely great. Communication prior to surgery was also pretty bad. They're extremely friendly and kind people, but they're to easily distracted and don't take the time to commincate and make you feel comfortable.

I was extremely satisfied with Transmed's services

I was extremely satisfied with Transmed's services, before care, after care and most importantly the results. I would recommend Transmed to anyone who is considering hair transplant surgery.

About Istanbul, Turkey

What to See:

Istanbul, an attraction point for many civilizations for centuries, nestles a unique historic and cultural heritage. The world famous Bosphorus, lying between not only two banks of the city, but two continents, hosts live examples of such a richness.

The leading historic values that place Istanbul in a peerless position among world metropolis belong to Byzantine and Ottoman periods while the history of human settlement in the city dates back 300,000 years.

Istanbul itself is more like a giant outdoor museum with its palaces, castles, city walls, and museums. Still, current importance attached to Istanbul as a world city is not limited to its history.

This modern city has always been called "the country’s window to the west." The health industry proves this modernism. Thousands of internationally approved doctors operate at global standards in modern hospitals and medical facilities, with the hi-tech equipment used in developed countries.

What to Savor:
Leb-i Derya is situated on a tattered street off busy Istiklal Caddesi. Leb-I Derya is a cultural mix of ultra-stylish terrace bar and animated Ottoman cuisine with a twist. It is the place to come for early evening cocktails in Istanbul – and enjoy the 40-spice steak.

Where to Stay:
Allstar Airport Gunes Hotel is in the heart of the textile business center a close distance to the historical area of the Old City. The Hotel offers luxurious rooms, the famed Venus and Stadium Pub Restaurants serving up delicious Turkish and International cuisines, and live music.
