Intralase Wavefront is similar to conventional Lasik surgery in the sense that it involves creating a “flap” in the cornea, so that the cornea can be reshaped, to better focus light onto the retina and improve vision. But Intralast Wavefront is more advanced and exact. A laser beam, rather than a microkeratome, is used to create the initial flap, which allows the flap to be made very thin, thereby giving the surgeon more corneal tissue to reshape the overall cornea.
