During the 1990's, there was an increase in the number of visitors to Antalya, Kemer, Belek and Side. This is because these cities had a solid infrastructure, beautiful scenery and a natural atmosphere helped make this region a valuable tourism hotspot.
Unfortunately there were very few local doctors and medical specialists available during these early years. Soon, however, he founders of the Anatolian Hospital established the hospital as an institution that served both the local population and many of the international visitors.
They had knowledge of foreign languages and medical expertise and their services ran parallel with the growing tourism industry in these cities. The Anatolian hospital helped to expand health care in the area.
The founders of Anatolian Hospital began by opening the first private/public health care group catering mainly to tourists. This was called "Özel Kemer Poliklinigi" (Kemer Medical Center). The clinic took a major step forward by bringing on board modern medical equipment and technology.
Specialists in their field created possibilities for more intensive treatment therapies and relations with private insurance companies were established. With the constant increase of medical services, the medical supply expanded greatly.
In 1997, the first private hospital "Kemer Anatolian Hospital" was opened and this hospital immediately attained its high status. This is still present today because of the simple fact that it offerss 24 hour service and high quality care.
This success was shortly followed by the opening of three more hospitals in Belek, Antalya and Side. Antalya had been missing a high quality hospital and the opening of the first A1 hospital with a capacity of 100 beds in the center of Antalya was a great breakthrough. Antalya Anatolian Hospital includes modern diagnostic and treatment facilities. Today, nearly all medical and surgical departments are available in Antalya Hospital.
