Common Name: inverted nipple repair, nipple inversion surgery What to Expect from Inverted Nipple Correction: The objective of the Inverted Nipple Correction procedure is to correct inverted nipples so that they protrude out rather than in. Areola reduction, breast reduction, or breast lift surgery may be accompanied by this procedure. Good Candidates for Inverted Nipple Correction: Women with inverted nipples due to congenital deformities, breast feeding, or prolonged use of medication who are self-conscious or unhappy with their appearance in clothing or in the nude are good candidates for this “corrective” aesthetic surgery. 18 should be the minimum age requirement for this procedure. In the meantime, over-the-counter medications can be used to alleviate the pain. Potential Side Effects/Risks associated with Inverted Nipple Correction: Allergic reaction to anesthesia, infection, re-inversion, bleeding, itchiness, dryness, slight discoloration or change in pigment, unwanted scarring.
