What to Expect from Male Breast Reduction Surgery: The objective of this procedure is to reduce the size of the chest in men that have excess fatty or gladular tissue due to hormonal imbalances, medications, or heredity. Description of Male Breast Reduction Surgery: The first step is a detailed consultation with your surgeon, who will determine the best method that will achieve your desired end results. Once you are sedated under a general anesthesia, liposuction will be used to extract fatty tissue from the breast area, and then small incisions will be made around the nipple area and sometimes other areas in the chest, depending on the amount of fat that needs to be extracted. This procedure is outpatient, which means that the patient can return home the same day, however your doctor may require that you stay overnight in the hospital.
