About Buenos Aires, Argentina

Buenos Aires is the capital and largest city of Argentina. It is geographically located on the southern shore of the Río de la Plata, on the southeastern coast of the South American continent. Greater Buenos Aires is the third largest conurbation in Latin America, with a population of about 13 million.

Strongly influenced by European culture, Buenos Aires is sometimes referred to as the "Paris of South America"

According to the World Travel & Tourism Council, tourism has been growing in the Argentine capital since 2002. In a survey by the travel and tourism publication Travel + Leisure Magazine in 2008, travelers voted Buenos Aires the second most desirable city to visit after Bangkok, Thailand.

The city offers a variety of cultural activities. Visitors may choose to visit a tango show, an estancia in the Province of Buenos Aires, or enjoy the traditional asado. New tourist circuits have recently evolved, devoted to famous Argentines such as Carlos Gardel, Eva Perón or Jorge Luis Borges. Due to the favourable exchange rate, its shopping centres such as Alto Palermo, Paseo Alcorta, Patio Bullrich, Abasto de Buenos Aires and Galerías Pacífico are frequently visited by tourists.

San Telmo is a frequently visited area south of city, with its cobblestoned streets and buildings from the colonial era that attest to its long history. There are churches, museums, antique shops and "Antique Fairs" ('Ferias de Antigüedades') in historic Dorrego Square, where the streets on weekends are filled with performers such as tango dancers. The city also plays host to musical festivals, the largest of which is Quilmes Rock.

I am in Buenos Aires, Argentina in the Clinic at RedCarpetPlasticSurgery yes. :)

I cry almost every day here because I am so loved and cared for and what they did for me went beyond any treatment I ever received anywhere from anyone but especially from other medical personnel.

The head Surgeon is Abel Chajchir. The walls are lined with awards and certificates, honors and distinguishments for this man but he deserves so much more. I graduated with a 4.0 GPA and I can tell you this man is a surgical artist and genious. I don't even know where to begin. His clinic superceded every element of care you could imagine. It was actually his son who arranged it. His son is a superb plastic surgeon as well and his wife also does dermatology. They do a lot here, even they can do hair replacement.

I had thigh lift, belt lipectomy, labiaplasty, they had to lift more then normal pubic amount.as well as it was a big sack of skin. They did this very safely without transfusion. I had asked them to make the scar low, they did and they put my belly button to the one side it seemed. I was shocked to see over the days it centered. How did they know it would? Really amazing. They hand-stitched everything. I am like a beautiful hand-sewn doll.

The second surgery was arm lift, also under arms but I had a special look I wanted. I wanted my ariolas the same size and need to breast feed for my culture. They did not cut anything going to the areolas but raised them just a little so they would look natural (like I wanted). They are the most beautiful breasts I have ever seen. My breasts were saggy skin sacks. There are no scars, only stitched around areolas to put 575 CC silicon gel 3rd generation implants in. I just stare at myself in amazement. They also did a mini facelift to fix a turkey neck and its lovely.

I did not have the right clothes when I came. The Doctor gave to me his clothes. I did cry. For my birthday he buy me tee shirts and bring a bag of his clothes and a good coat because though I am hot he do not want me top catch chill. The entire staff shows me affection. It is a Psychologist's dream. The cooks, cleaning ladies, Doctors, Nurses, Secretaries all give me besitos (kisses) and hugs.

After the first operation I was supposed to get surgery in 3-4 days for second set. My blood wasn't up and they fed me fresh steak, liver, chicken breast, vegetables, fruits, and modified everything to how I eat as I was over 500lbs and went from 8X to size 6. I think that is 14 sizes or something. My sister was poisoning me over years with a fatal allergen that basically crippled me like Superman with Kryptonite.

When I got away from her, my whole life has been changing but I can tell you in all honesty, what this entire staff has done in just some days is nothing short of miraculous. The Senior surgeon knows more techniques then any plastic surgeon I studied and is by far most certainly the best plastic surgeon in Argentina. Even the staff that has a hard time with English were straining themselves to communicate with me.

I found myself translating letters from my English to Spanish to let them know my deep feelings about this whole experience. The fact is they took a monster and they made me a princess. What they have accomplished will and has already changed my whole life.

They waited until my blood was good, had also been giving me special vitamins etc., then the second operation they also transfused me a little to make sure I did well. The food, OMG, you would NEVER get this in an American Hospital ever. The care is different but better I think.

They require you to not lay still and ring bells like in USA. You have a bell but they are constantly encouraging you to get involved in your own care which has made me stronger of a person.

The clinic is Superb, the architecture, the security. OMG when I first got here I was having them lock my money and passport in a safe now I leave in my room like it is nothing and walk all over with it in my room. I can trust the entire staff. It is not like this where I come from.

The most wonderful surprise was that before the second operation the doctor heard I always wanted an "outy" belly button and they had already given me an "inny" like the old one. To love me the staff did switch my belly button to outy and I did cry again when I woke up and found yet another dream had come true.

The Chajchirs are the main surgeons but they have others on their team that I wish I knew the names of but I will find out. The other surgeons are still young and learning but so vibrant and talented. It is pleasing to see them as the next generation of fantastic surgeons learning from masters in the field.

I am in contact with other former patients too and I know they would support me in an effort to recognize these wonderful people, so any information you could help me to get on the awards, recognitions etc available to all members of a surgical team, like for the whole clinic and then for separate ones for the surgeons, surgical nurses, anesthesiologists, etc. would be so extremely wonderful and I am sure you will be blessed for your help. I think good people like this need and deserve recognition to continue.

Warm regards,

Carrie :)
