Prof. Dr. Alp Bozbora

Prof. Dr. Alp Bozbora was born in 1959 and graduated from Istanbul University’s Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine in 1983. After working in the USA for a year, he returned to Turkey and completed his residency in the city of Elazığ. He was admitted as assistant in Istanbul University’s Faculty of Medicine’s General Surgery Unit in 1986, and appointed as the unit’s chiefintern in 1990. Specializing in Endocrine Surgery, he completed his education and became a professor in 2002.

He has published work on Endocrinology for many national and international congresses as well as medical journals.

In 1995, he began dealing with what is affecting this generation the most today, obesity. He went abroad and received education in some of the best medical institutions in the world. He began performing weight loss surgeries in 1997 and became Turkey’s most experienced doctor in this field, and later on became the head of his team. His research on obesity, therapy, treatment and surgery for obesity has been published in medical journals in English and Turkish.

Dr. Bozbora belongs to the IFSO (International Federation of Surgery for Obesity), IAESA (International Endocrine Surgery Association), Turkish Surgery Federation, Endokrinolojide Diyalog derneği (Endocrinology Dialogue Federation) and ANKEM (Antibiotic and Chemotherapy Federation).

Your personnel took very good care of me. The nurses came very often in my room to look after the infusions and to give pain reliever if necessary. The treatment was good as well. The Doctors came after and asked how I was. Also the cooperation with your administrative staff like Cigdem was very good. She was there almost every day to ask if she can do something. The treatment was pretty fast and also the room was good. There was enough comfort. I would recommend your hospital to other people so far. I can not say anything about the future and how fast the curing process will go. So far I am quite satisfied. If the healing process will also go fast and well I am pretty sure I would do it again.
