An arthroscopic washout is a minimally invasive procedure of the knee used to treat osteoarthritis.
A Good candidate for knee arthroscopic washout includes a person with:
· Tear in the cartilage of the knee
· Arthritis in the knee
· Torn ligament
Small incisions are made around the knee cap and an arthroscope with a cannula is fed through the incisions. The cannula is filled with a saline solution that washes out debris around the knee joint. Arthroscopic washout of the knee is a video-assisted procedure which allows for maximum visualization, minimal scarring and a short recovery time.
